Carla Dirlikov was recently described by Opera Magazine as having “the most compelling voice of the evening, one that grabbed the heartstrings with its dramatic force and musicality.” Ms. Dirlikov’s recent engagements of note include Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem at Washington National Cathedral and Preziosilla La Forza del Destino Opera Royal de Wallonie, conducted by Paolo Arrivabeni. She added another new role to her repertoire, the temptress Giulietta Les Contes d’Hoffmann in Francesca Zambello’s production at the National Center for the Arts, Beijing, conducted by Stephen Barlow, and remained in Beijing for the ROH production of Carmen in which she sang the title role. In the summer of 2013 she joined the artist roster at Glyndebourne Festival as Komponist (cover) Ariadne auf Naxos.
In the 2013-14 season Ms. Dirlikov will return to China for a series of solo recitals under the auspices of the American Cultural Center Tours. She will also participate as a soloist in performances of the Mozart Requiem with the Ankara President Symphony Orchestra, and will debut the role of Cornelia in Handel’s Giulio Cesare with Opera Roanoke. Future seasons will see her return to the Opera Royal de Wallonie.
